Ascent Accounting Limited (“Ascent Accounting”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry or request a call back through our contact form, we collect:

• your name and email address
• your phone number, if you give it (it’s needed for a call back)
• the service you’re interested in, your preferred way for us to reply, and any preferred day and time for a call back
• anything you tell us in your message

We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website. If you switch the site to dark mode, your browser remembers that choice on your own device; it isn’t sent to us.

How we use it

We use your information only to reply to your enquiry, arrange a call or meeting, and give you the information you asked for. If you go on to become a client, we’ll use it to set up and manage our work with you, and your engagement letter will explain how we handle your records from then on.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t add you to marketing lists without your permission.

Who else handles it

We use a small number of trusted providers to run this website. Some of them store or process information outside New Zealand, and we choose providers that protect it in a way comparable to the Privacy Act:

• Netlify hosts this website and receives contact form submissions, which it stores and emails to us. Netlify is based in the United States.
• Google provides our booking calendar (if you choose “Book a free chat”, Google’s own privacy policy applies to the details you enter there), our email, and the fonts used on this website. When your browser loads the fonts, Google receives your IP address.

We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with Inland Revenue.

How we keep it safe and how long we keep it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. This website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to respond to you and for our business records, and then delete them.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us at info@ascentaccounting.co.nz and we’ll respond within 20 working days.
